The building under study is located within the plot at the junction of Notaras Kolokotronis El. Venizelos, with a total area of 474,81 sqm. The building seems to have been built around 1880-1890. It does not show any different phases of construction and its present form does not differ much from the original. According to information, the building was rebuilt to house the Mela family and the needs of the family business, The house was occupied by the family until about 1980 and since then it has remained unoccupied. In the part of the building designated as a listed building The building with the facades on El. Venizelos and Kolokotronis. This decision protects its architectural character from alterations during its repair or other interventions and prohibits any removal, alteration or destruction of the architectural and artistic ornamental and artistic decorative elements. The building is a neoclassical building, a typical example of a typical example of an urban residence - mansion. It is a two-storey house with a basement consisting of complete and independent apartments on each floor.
The rise in the phenomena of abuse of women in the last two years in our country has made it even more urgent to take actions to prevent gender-based violence and to strengthen and reinforce social and labour (re)integration of vulnerable groups of women who suffer violence in their family environment. In this context, local government must contribute both to raising awareness and thus to prevention, and to and in providing counselling, with a view to the professional rehabilitation of women who need to be relieved of the burden of violence from a violent relationship. The Municipality of Piraeus in response to this social imperative decided to develop the property on Eleftherios Venizelos Street and Kolokotronis, a neoclassical building of 1890, by converting it into a place for the elaboration of national and community programmes for prevention and eradication of gender violence. The target is this space: - to house professionals working in the field (psychologists, social workers, lawyers, etc.) and providing services support and counselling services for women - to provide a beautiful and welcoming space where women victims can go for advice and support domestic violence - contribute to raising awareness among citizens and young people through events (workshops, exhibitions, book presentations, etc.)
( I ) From left to right , the first curve takes on volume and on top of it are placed grandstands of small in order to relax and rest of the user. Then , at its lifting it joins the ceiling as well as with the floor where its role becomes decorative at the point of the cafeteria. ( II ) At the point of the middle part of the wave , i.e. in the courtyard , the curve is reborn from the ground and takes height resulting in the creation of a canopy. Finally , the canopy in its course is divided into two directions. ( III ) On the one hand it comes and covers the right part of the building ( IV ) While in the other it creates an opening in the wall at curved shape
