The pip-up store

The inspiration for this pop-up store, specializing in the sale of carefully curated vintage collectible products, drew from the Forty Five Ten NYC store, a retro-futuristic establishment dedicated to vintage collectibles. It also stemmed from concerns regarding the fashion industry's waste problem, resulting in the project's sustainability concept.

The chosen location is AFI Palace Cotroceni, although this pop-up store can be placed in any mall, thanks to the ease of installation, facilitated by the modular nature of its elements. Due to the diversity of products, modularity is integrated into most display areas. Consequently, it will acquire a fresh appearance with each stock renewal, thus eliminating the monotony that might occur during its presence in a specific location.

For this piece of furniture, we have chosen to utilize a relatively experimental material developed in the early years - BGM Bulk Metallic Glass. Led by Jan Scroers, a scientist from Yale University, a team of researchers has demonstrated that recent advancements in this material allow randomly arranged atoms to be blow-molded, similar to plastics, into intricate shapes that cannot be achieved using conventional metals without sacrificing their strength and durability. The researchers blew the alloy at a low temperature and pressure, making the material highly malleable, much like plastic but without crystallizing like ordinary metal.
