Through some online and in class workshops done during my holidays, after year 1, I was able to learn some of the basic functions of coding in grasshopper and designing in rhino. The work shown below will showcase some the assisted designs and some of the self-made designs.
The concept behind this design involves creating a feature wall composed of various cuboid forms that are affixed to the wall. The design was a collaborative effort during a class session with the instructor's providing guidance and assistance.
The idea for this design emerged during a playful and exploratory phase while I was experimenting with various basic functions in Grasshopper and other related extensions. Initially, I didn't have a specific objective in mind, but as I continued working on the project, it evolved into a form resembling a pool bed float, which inspired the name for the design.
In this design, my aim was to replicate the new basketball that was intended for use in NBA games. Without any specific instructions or guidelines to follow, I embarked on a journey of experimentation, trying out various commands until I eventually arrived at this design. While it closely resembles the original ball design, it is not an exact replica.
During the final week of the workshop, I crafted this unique house design with the objective of creating a dwelling for two individuals. The main focus was on achieving a central layout. Upon entering through the front, people would find themselves in the living area and gradually progress towards the master bedroom located at the rear of the house. To emphasize the spatial hierarchy, the master bedroom was designed with a higher floor-to-floor height. Adding to the charm, there is a beautiful garden positioned at the heart of the development, providing a delightful view from all areas of the house.
