The project seeks to design a new cultural center on the site of the old IRT Powerhouse in New York City. The concept was to design a building that is both modern and classic in order to fit in with the neighborhood's style. We opted for a classic shape with classic materials, from which a modern shape with modern materials emerged. To make the project more sustainable, we designed an indoor garden as a continuation of the new proposed park, as well as a facade made of rammed earth and low E glass.
