Principles of an intelligent responsive architecture

Year: 2023

Category: Cultural Architecture

By utilising the principles present within the natural environment, this can provide us with a new emerging field of bio-design, a link between the built and natural world, thus creating new methods of design intent and an evolutionary stage of responsive architecture. This gives us the opportunity to explore new ways of transforming the ecological imprint. This would mean a more biodiverse, contemporary and technologically advanced material culture. This would predominantly question the creative opportunities induced by the appropriation of a profoundly more intelligent metamorphosis of the built infrastructure. Concepts will be focused on the biomimetic and bioluminescent properties of these structures.

Biomorphic Conjoined Mushroom Structure

The biomorphic mushroom structure is a unique addition to the architectural landscape. The organic columns support the mushroom-shaped structure, which is made from a variety of organic materials. The mushroom shape is inspired by nature and the way that mushrooms grow.

Biomorphic Single Mushroom Structure

The Biomorphic Mushroom structure is a unique and innovative architectural project that was created out of semi industrial and organic materials. The structure is made out of large, water absorbent mushrooms and light sensitive roof surfaces that are interconnected with each other using a network of tubes. The mushrooms are arranged in a circular formation, and they are covered in a layer of green moss. The structure is located in a forest, and it is surrounded by trees and plants.

Biomorphic Dendriform Shaped Mushroom Structure

The biomorphic shaped mushroom structure is made out of sensitive light materials, light absorbent panel system and supporting tubes fused within the natural soil. The mushroom is designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and functional as a light absorbent or light repellant when appropriate so as to maintain a cool or hot temperature. The structure can be used to collect and store solar energy, providing a sustainable solution for energy needs.

Biomorphic Metallic Mushroom with glass openings

This project is an architectural design for a biomorphic metallic mushroom structure with glass skylights to improve lighting emittance. The mushroom shape is designed to maximize the use of natural light and ventilation, while the glass skylights provide a bright and naturalistic environment.

Biomorphic Light Metallic conjoined Mushroom structure with spherical pods

The Biomorphic Light Metallic conjoined Mushroom structure with spherical pods on the sides is an architectural project that is inspired by the natural world. The structure is made from a combination of metal and light, and it is designed to be both beautiful and functional. The spherical pods on the sides give the structure a natural look, and they also help to create a comfortable environment inside the structure.

Biomorphic Exoskeleton

The biomorphic exoskeleton is a parametrically shaped pavilion made out of light responsive rods weaved with each other. The exterior of the pavilion is composed of a series of intersecting curves, while the interior is filled with a soft light that diffuses throughout the structure. The structure is able to change its shape in response to its environment, adapting to the surrounding terrain and providing a comfortable and relaxing space for its occupants.

Biomimetic Bioluminescent Glass structure

The Glass structure is inspired by the tree roots as supporting elements. The symmetrically designed structure is made of transparent glass that allows natural light to pass through and create a mesmerizing bioluminescent effect. The structure is designed to resemble a tree’s roots and is meant to be a beautiful addition to any landscape.

Breathing Bioluminescent Glass structure

A Breathing Bioluminescent Glass structure that functions as a greenhouse was designed by the architects. The glass structure is made up of many small, interconnected panels that are lit up by a light source inside the structure. The light diffuses through the glass and creates a beautiful glow that can be seen from a great distance. The structure is able to trap the heat from the sun and convert it into energy that is used to power the lights inside the structure.

Biomorphic Parametric Pavilion of Tranquillity

The Biomorphic Parametric Pavilion of Tranquillity is an architectural project that seeks to create a space that can be used to relax and rejuvenate. The pavilion is made out of a movable and intelligent wind and sound responsive membrane, which allows it to change its shape and function to suit the needs of the user. The membrane is also made out of a lightweight and durable material, which ensures that the pavilion is able to withstand the elements and remain stable.

Biomimetic squid shaped pavilion

The Biomimetic Squid Shaped Pavilion is a breathing organism made out of a soft exterior polymer membrane responsive to light. This structure controls the bioluminescent properties of the structure, and it is inspired by the way squid use their light to navigate in the dark.

Flower shaped Pavilion

The Flower shaped Pavilion with glass openings allowing light to enter was designed to be an elegant and functional addition to any landscape. The curved glass panels create a natural light-filled space that is perfect for relaxing or entertaining guests. The pavilion is also easy to maintain, making it a perfect choice for any exterior environment.

Movable biomorphic squid pod

The Movable Biomorphic Squid Pod was designed as an architectural project that would be able to change its light transition based on the temperature and lighting conditions. The squid pod would be able to be transferred on any location, giving the occupant the ultimate experience of safety and light transition.
