Design V Co-housing Apartment

The semester started by experimenting with different co-housing apartment unit types in relation to the site in East Brooklyn. By midterm, we were expected to incorporate shared kitchen, study and workspaces adjacent to the units to serve the co-housing function. The second half of the semester we began to look various mechanical systems: HVAC, Boilers, roof facades, drainage systems, columns grids etc.

A multifunction theater/reading zone built on top and adjacent to the Washington Heights Library located in the Sugar Hill district of Manhattan. The curvilinear pods are aggregated and cantilevered over one another, while be sliced through a massive bent volume that functions as a rock-climbing wall.

Design II Project A Linear Directions of Uncertainty - Focus was to design a bookstore in Venice, Italy and react to canal flooding. The design embodies the concentration of pipes, funnel cubicles and cross bracing.
