Nakanojo Artisan Sake Brewery

Japan, Gunma, Nakanojo: A rural town facing abandonment is in need of reviving its touristic sector and benefiting from the traditional wisdom of its elderly. An old school site is subject to renovation in hopes of reviving the area. Being the national drink of japan, we took on a sake brewery project to define the town’s unique identity and attract visitors. The Sake Brewery adapts a unique form and unforgettable experience birthed from the surrounding abandoned structure and the sake making process An industrial steel red parasite follows through the journey of making sake discovering along the way the beautiful foliage and landscape.
