About
I chose to return to formal education over the pandemic to further explore two vastly different areas of interest - Computer Science and Interior Design. As I embarked on a full-time Computer Science major, I tucked myself into a cramped corner of a shared home office with a direct view of not one, but two toilets for my 100% remote classes. I could not help but take notice how impactful my surroundings were to my mood, physical well-being, and overall productivity. This experience left me wanting to learn more about how people occupy and interact with their living environments and how a thoughtfully designed space can encourage and support a desired behavior or result with consistency. I knew I had to make the pivot away from the toilets and into the Interior Design program. My Interior Design studies at Oakland Community College prepared me with the technical skills required to assess and approach each project with empathy and a holistic sensibility in order to meet the project requirements.
