6th Sense "Experience the Unvisible"
Cappadocia, Turkey has distinctive geological formations, ancient underground cities, and historical landmarks. However, tourists often miss out on the region's full potential by only staying in the central area.
One of those places is Yusuf Koç Church in Göreme, featuring a stunning stone-carved structure that includes various rooms and animal shelters hewn from the same rock. Historical research indicates that people utilized these carved spaces as a place to live.
The project, "6th Sense" seeks to enhance visitors' experience of Cappadocia by utilizing virtual and augmented reality to showcase the region's unique features such as stone carving and wine making, offering a glimpse into the area's past living practices.
The proposed project suggests creating a walking trail that is inspired by the hollows of a large rock formation, allowing people to explore the living spaces in a tangible way and also providing an opportunity to experience a blend of past and present realities. The project has been created to reflect real-life experiences in virtual reality, and is designed to provide users with an immersive and realistic experience. The VR project has been modeled and packaged using Unreal Engine 5, and is compatible with any VR headset.
