Maggie Center for Cancer Care at Cleveland Clinic, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Rooted in the science of frequency and nature, this Maggie Center reimagines cancer therapy through three healing frequencies: green frequency (639 Hz) translated into lush vegetation, blue frequency (741 Hz) into calming bodies of water embedded within the landscape, and the earthy frequency (285 Hz) into the warm materiality of Fetdetterra blocks, where the sustainable and locally sourced rammed earth blocks are utilized. The project orchestrates a therapeutic journey using vegetation, water, and materiality. The form emerges from five pre-existing retaining walls on site, extruded into heavy planar walls with light cubic spaces in-between them. With the interplay of heavy and light, the architecture allows for a clean flow of frequency, one that heals. Note: This visualization was individually developed and produced by me, Nooralzahra Khezrian, as part of a collaborative academic project. While the overall design was initially developed in partnership during a studio course, all aspects of this image, including the composition, modelling, and rendering, were independently executed.
