Reed College Garden Arbor Sakura Azzopardi Jesse Neuman-Hammond Upon completing site analysis at the Reed College Garden with Reed College’s Art 365 class (Intersection: Landscape, Architecture, & Sculpture), we observed that there were a lot of issues regarding the flow of spaces and the lack of accessibility. Additionally, we observed an overall lack of awareness that the garden space existed at all. Our goal is to create an official, attractive, and accessible entrance to the garden. This also serves the purpose of attracting native bird and pollinator species with the introduction of native honeysuckle, Lonicera ciliosa. Thus, the arbor project came to fruition to facilitate symbiosis between the Reed community and native flora and fauna while inviting accessible community gatherings in the garden space. A future goal for this initiative is to catalyze future engagement and investment in the Reed College garden.
