As visitors look up into the pavilion's mirror ceiling, they discover themselves within Surrey's bright future. The opacity of the materials throughout the structure varies to reflect the balance between the unknown, uncontrollable aspects of the future and the destiny we can choose for ourselves. Mirrors are placed on the faces of the extruded letter seats to encourage play, and enhance visibility and safety. Group and individual seating is interspersed within the pavilion. As visitors look into the mirror ceiling and see their reflection, they will also see the reflection of other people in the pavilion, revealing that a bright future is built through community with others.
