The foundations are crucial as they bear the entire load of the building and distribute it to the ground, forming the most vital part of the construction process. Before pouring the concrete, certain preparatory steps are essential. This includes laying a polyane film, which acts as a vapor barrier to prevent moisture issues, and applying a 5cm layer of clean concrete without steel reinforcement to create a flat and stable base. Subsequently, reinforcing bars are carefully placed, ensuring an adequate concrete cover is maintained. This concrete cover is key to protecting the steel from environmental damage and corrosion, thus preserving the structural integrity of the building. In this construction project, the 25x25 cm columns, made with 14 mm longitudinal reinforcement and 8 mm ties, are key for bearing horizontal seismic and wind loads. For the walls, 8-hole hollow bricks are used, with interior partitions made of simple hollow bricks.
