CLEVER is a proposed primary school designed by architecture student John Smith, located in Minsk, Belarus. The school is designed for 300 students aged 6-10 years old and follows an eco-friendly and sustainable design approach. The three-story building has an elongated footprint to maximize natural daylight and ventilation. The facade features large windows to allow abundant daylight into the classrooms and shared spaces. Solar panels are integrated into the sloped green roof to generate electricity and reduce energy costs. The school prioritizes natural materials like timber and stone. The entrance has a sweeping canopy made of laminated timber beams and large glazed panels to welcome students. Classrooms open onto shared learning commons with access to support spaces like reading nooks, small group rooms, and teacher planning areas. Landscaping features native plants and trees, play areas, community gardens, and rainwater collection systems. Building systems like HVAC, lighting, and plumbing are designed for high efficiency. Materials are locally sourced, recycled, or renewable whenever possible.
