Project

Atlantis

Year: 2018

Have you ever reimagined the ocean floor? What if millions of years ago an alien living form, previously unknown to humans, occupied the depth of the oceans? Atlantis is an imaginative exploration into the particle-filled living void underwater, and it was completed during Retrofiction workshop hosted by Architect Scripta in Athens, Greece. Atlantis strives to reinvent a dynamic lost environment and create mythical creatures under the ocean surface, intersecting multiple typologies and their respective habitats. From more static structural elements of the mythical world (such as columns and dancers) to the particle-like environment which is constantly in motion of assembly and disintegration, Atlantis suggests an aspatial concept which counters a black-and-white narration of history. With imagination, the project raises open-ended – and surely enticing – questions and possibilities.
