FLOW is a project I created as part of my MLA studio project at Cornell University. The project focused on the mobility and movement of the Anacostia neighborhood in Washington D.C. and aimed to address the disconnection caused by the I 295 highway infrastructure. My proposal was to depress a segment of the highway and bridge the gap with a multilevel landscape that would provide transit, services, and recreation opportunities. I saw the Anacostia River, Anacostia Park, and the existing recreational bike and hike trail as important neighborhood assets and proposed to connect the neighborhood to these trails and enhance the experience with multi-functional spaces. The "Flow" project aimed to create a new Fairlawn neighborhood core and transit hub that served as a transitional space between the city grid and Anacostia Park.
