The pottery industry in Sri Lanka still uses traditional methods. Other countries have moved on to using new, modern methods of making pottery. It’s time that Sri Lanka’s pottery industry steps into the future. This industry is dying because the younger generation is drawn to new technology, and the solution is to use modern technology to develop the traditional craft of pottery. The concept of the project is “BRIDGING THE PAST INTO THE FUTURE” The building aims to show the younger generation new and improved ways to design pottery using modern technology while celebrating the roots of this industry. The primary users will be people who have some sort of knowledge of the industry and are seeking to do something different, something more.
