The recent agenda of the architectural environment is about the difficulty of constructing new buildings in cities, the inability to meet the needs of the current dense population, and the transformation/reuse of existing structures. Considering the sustainability of cities, it has become important to reuse the structures, which are the cultural heritage of the cities, depending on changing cultural, social, and physical environmental conditions. It has become a necessity to bring buildings that cannot meet the needs functionally but have not completed their structural life yet to be brought to the city and continue to be used. At this point, the transformed building is re-evaluated in terms of both spatial and design criteria. For this reason, we used the endless inspiration of 'midjourney' to transform existing structures by utilizing alternative architectural perspectives. In doing so, three dynamics, in particular, were addressed: (i) The relationship of the 'residual' spaces of the existing building stock with the existing texture (ii) transforming the existing structure with futuristic approaches by relating the existing urban fabric. (iii) The recapture of 'residual' spaces by nature. You can see examples of all three approaches below. Team Members: Melike Atıcı & Tuğçe Utku Sümer & Melek Demiröz & Nil Akdede
