This project aims to learn the relationship between architecture and environment, the generation mechanism and combination types of space and endure reasonable functional zoning. From the perspective of campus culture and environment, thus first of all we need to do site analysis. After understanding the site condition, then we can take profitable aspects to improve our concept. I choose the site where located next to the architectural department, because I find out in Tianjin University old campus already has an academic library, so I want to provide specific type for this library where can serve specific users. I design an “Architectural Library”.

Then I take the advantages of surrounding view(3 lakes) create the initial volume that fit the site configuration, existing pedestrian, sun orientation so on. Additionally, I also want to transform this building into passive building or sustainable building that possible to borrow the natural light in daytime. Therefore, I start to play with the sawtooth rather than flat roof. How much we can design the space where gonna meet with requirement , connect with view and amount of light that we want to have, this stage also effects on window position and material selection.
Because of existing pedestrian and I also don't want to block it too, thus i pull it up that will allow people walk under rather than walk across
