The strategy and operations (S&O) division at Theatre Projects is looking for a theatre planner to create engaging preliminary plans for new or renovated arts, cultural, entertainment, or other creative spaces.
The S&O division helps support and guide clients to create sustainable and successful long-term arts infrastructure, and the theatre planner position will primarily collaborate on early concept-level projects led by S&O. The Lab division provides custom solutions for the built environment, and the theatre planner will also cross-collaborate on select projects for that division.
Through superior visual storytelling using design tools and AI technology, the theatre planner will communicate conceptual ideas to clients, transforming client visions into functional, actionable plans. This full-time position is based in the New York office with an in-office expectation of at least three days/week. Fully remote locations will be considered for exceptional candidates.
This fast-paced, creative division needs a creative problem-solver with a keen eye for aesthetics who is excited about shaping arts and entertainment spaces through an iterative process.
In general, this position will:
Collaborate and iterate with internal and external project stakeholders to understand project goals, client vision, and detailed requirements of each project
Produce massing diagrams and photorealistic renderings
Develop preliminary space planning requirements and technical equipment budgets
Conduct zoning and code research to inform project decisions
Conduct comprehensive site/venue assessments
Present design ideas and visual storytelling elements to clients and stakeholders
We’re looking for someone who has:

Advanced proficiency in Rhino, BIM software (Revit), graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite), and visualization software (AutoCAD, 3ds Max, SketchUp). Proficiency with rendering tools such as Enscape is a plus.
A strong ability to translate concepts into compelling visual narratives in a fast-faced project environment.
A strong understanding of venue space requirements, including technical production equipment and guest experience aspects.
Associate level. Salary range: $105,000-$120,000 with great benefits like no-cost-to-employee health, dental, and vision coverage.
