The Challenge
Design Meets Business: Are You Ready to Take On the MBArch Entrepreneurship Challenge and Win 1 of 3 Exclusive Tuition Awards?
In a rapidly changing world, we need design entrepreneurs capable of questioning everything around them and reshaping the built environment for the better. Spatial design and the global construction industry are undergoing profound transformation—driven by new technologies, shifting business cultures, and urgent environmental and social pressures. For creative and strategic minds, change means opportunity.
The MBArch Entrepreneurship Challenge – V Edition invites young professionals with 2 to 15 years of experience in architecture, design, engineering, construction, or related fields to take the first essential step of any entrepreneurial journey: identify a real problem in your industry and clearly articulate the opportunity behind it.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
Choose one of the five improvement areas shaping the future of spatial design:
Design Management (DM)
Sustainability (S)
Urban Life & Urban Space (ULUS)
Construction Materials & Innovation (CMI)
Marketing & Business Development in Design (MBD)
Then submit:
1. A PDF (max 5 pages)
Respond to the 8 guided questions provided in the official challenge template, explaining:
the problem you’ve identified
why it matters
why there is an opportunity to create value and build a business around it
2. A Slide Deck (max 5 slides)
Summarize your submission and outline one potential path for exploration—technological or otherwise—that could lead to meaningful solutions.
No full solution is required. No design proposal. This challenge focuses on entrepreneurial thinking, clarity, and strategic framing.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
If you work in architecture, interior design, landscape, construction, civil engineering, urban design and planning, or any field related to the built environment, this competition is for you.
