"Opportunity" - A Monument For Change
A cluster of mirrored monoliths is used to represent the countless facets of the rapidly developing city of Surrey, Vancouver.
“Opportunity”, a pavilion designed as a permeable place to interact with, becomes a space of encounter, emphasizing the symbiotic relationship between the built environment and the collective consciousness of the community.
A distinction emerges between standard mirrored structures and towering blue mirror elements. While the former seamlessly integrate with the existing urban environment, reflecting the present moment, the latter offer a tantalizing glimpse into the future, enhancing the evolving landscape with new perspectives and deeper impacts.
The pavilion serves as a poignant reminder that the evolution of urban landscapes is not solely a product of concrete and steel but is also mainly linked to the aspirations and actions of its inhabitants.
