The Museum of Contemporary Art is one of the most important cultural buildings and provides students with cultural and scientific aspects. I faced great challenges in this project. The concept of the projections was inspired by the idea of ​​adjacent triangles. It included the element of visual communication between the halls and the possibility of the public seeing all the exhibits and isolating the study and lecture zone and the administrative zone. The construction of the building and its public hall were studied.

While working at RYZON Company, I was asked to design a living room for an entrepreneur in Dubai. I faced initial difficulties, but I showed some examples to the client, such as the furniture and the color scheme. After the work, I suggested the shot to him, and it caught his interest and desire.

This modern minimalist bedroom offers a tranquil and stylish haven for a teenager. The design prioritizes clean lines and a neutral color palette of white, beige, and gray. This creates a calming yet modern atmosphere, perfect for an active teenager.  The subtle textures of the materials, like the marble-look ceramic floor and wood-look wardrobe, remain the focal point. Recessed downlights provide general illumination throughout the room.

Modern Minimalist Bedroom: A Teenager's Chill Zone

The furniture in this bedroom prioritizes functionality within a minimalist aesthetic. A platform bed with a sleek design and simple bedding in neutral tones fosters a calm and comfortable environment for studying or relaxing. A streamlined wardrobe with a wood-look finish provides ample storage space without compromising the minimalist aesthetic. While minimalism is key, the space allows for personalization through carefully chosen décor elements. This could include showcasing favorite band posters or displaying a comic book collection on open shelves.

Functional Furniture with a Teen Twist

Despite its minimalist design, the room encourages  expression through carefully chosen décor elements. A unique desk lamp on the study table or a houseplant in the corner can add a personal touch and reflect the occupant's hobbies.

Space for Teen Creativity

Modern Minimalist Retreat: A Serene Space

The seamless blend of functionality and minimalist aesthetics creates an ideal retreat for a teenager. Clean lines, a neutral color palette, and the use of natural materials foster a calming environment for studying and relaxation.  Additionally, the allowance for personal touches and space for creativity make this room a comfortable space for a teenager to express themselves.

A Haven for Rest and Self-Expression

Modern Minimalist Bedroom, Makassar, South Sulawesi

Given the importance of hotels and their contribution to promoting tourism and travel, it was suggested to me to design an interior space for a 5-star room in the Safir Hotel in Homs. I presented the suggested tips and directions for the color scheme and furniture, and after the modifications by the supervisor, we completed the task with complete efficiency.

5 STARS HOTEL

Fairmont 3 marks the third phase of a residential development in a quiet suburban area of Lethbridge. This project benefits from excellent connectivity, with 24 Ave S to the north providing access to a major highway and Fairway Rd S on the west offering a convenient tertiary road connection. This phase is part of an ongoing development, continuing the design language and aesthetic established in the first two phases, ensuring cohesion and a sense of continuity throughout the neighborhood.

The site's location offers minimal challenges, making it ideal for maximizing affordable housing units without compromising on design quality. The inverted L-shape of the site on the North-west side introduced unique opportunities for building placement, allowing us to craft a solution that integrates with the surrounding area. The western side of the site is adjacent to an institutional building, while the eastern boundary is shared with residential properties, contributing to the peaceful and community-friendly nature of the project. The south is flanked by single-family homes, further reinforcing the area’s residential character.

With its quiet surroundings, the project was designed to foster a residential-friendly atmosphere. During the concept stage, the design team focused on balancing density with aesthetic appeal, ensuring that the development serves the demand for affordable housing while remaining true to the distinctive architectural style typical of the previous phases. The overall layout capitalizes on the site’s shape, with stacked townhomes on the west side and a mid-rise multi-unit residential building running along the long eastern edge.

The stacked townhomes are a defining feature of Fairmont 3, offering a three-story typology that introduces a new element to the overall development. Each townhome is split into two units: the ground floor is occupied by one unit, while the second and third stories form a separate unit. This arrangement provides a unique vertical living experience, maintaining privacy between units while maximizing available space. The ground-floor units enjoy spacious backyards, which are further enhanced by privacy screens to ensure residents can enjoy their outdoor spaces comfortably.

For the upper units, the second and third floors feature large deck spaces, creating a sense of openness and breaking up the building mass to avoid a monotonous facade. This design move helps create a dynamic interplay of form and space, ensuring that the townhomes maintain an inviting, modern aesthetic while also offering functional outdoor areas for residents. The use of balconies and decks also contributes to the development's visual appeal, emphasizing light and air throughout the units.

The townhomes share the same building materials and cladding scheme as the apartment buildings, ensuring a unified look across the development. Despite the need for affordability, the design does not compromise on the quality of finishes or the overall appearance. In fact, the decision to add an extra story to the typical townhome design allowed us to meet the increased demand for affordable units while maintaining the same compact footprint. The stacked design also creates opportunities for residents to interact, fostering a sense of community within each building block.

Site amenities have been carefully planned to cater to the needs of the community. In addition to the bike storage required by the city of Lethbridge, access-a-ride parking stalls are provided to ensure accessibility for all residents. Since Phase 3 is somewhat secluded from the previous two phases, it includes dedicated amenities such as a gym, dog run, garden area, and a rental office, further distinguishing it as a self-sufficient development that caters to modern living standards.

The apartment building in Fairmont 3 is a six-story structure with a gable roof, continuing the development's traditional yet modern aesthetic. To address the site’s winter start date, a crawlspace foundation was chosen, allowing for ease of construction and providing the building with extra insulation during the colder months. The building features a spacious, efficient layout designed to maximize rental units without sacrificing the residents' quality of life.

Since this phase follows the NBC 2020 building code, several new design elements were incorporated. One of the most notable adjustments was the widening of the corridors, ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements. This thoughtful integration of accessibility features into the design reflects a commitment to inclusivity, making the building more user-friendly for all residents, including those with mobility challenges.

Another unique aspect of the apartment building is the inclusion of a firewall, required due to the structure’s size and height. This firewall necessitated the creation of electrical closets on either side of the wall on each floor, housing the unit meter stacks for each level. The incorporation of this design feature not only improved safety but also enhanced the functionality of the building by ensuring seamless access to essential services for all units.

By carefully considering the demands of affordable housing, site constraints, and building codes, Fairmont 3 successfully expands upon the design language established in the previous phases, offering a diverse mix of townhomes and apartments that cater to a wide range of residents. With thoughtful planning, high-quality design, and a strong emphasis on community, this phase sets a new standard for residential development in Lethbridge.

The Haveli is sited on a small plot with a plot area of 272 sq m and is bound on three sides by buildings in the area
of residential neighborhood,

The two storeyed Haveli has a Foliated arched gateway, with typical sandstone brackets on top, also follows a spatial pattern like the other Havelis in Shahjahanabad,(old Delhi) with rooms built around a central courtyard.

The structure was constructed of Lakhori brick with lime mortar, lime concrete flooring, decorative sandstone columns, timber battens with timber board on ceiling. Due to lack availability original plans and details, the Haveli was studied thoroughly by means of documentation analysis. A complete set of measuring drawings of the Haveli were prepared and digitized to understand its architectural vocabulary.

Before Restoration Phase

This historic fabric has a high degree of social significance. The building is also representative of most 19th Century typology of Havelis which embodied a confluence of both the traditional Mughal and Colonial methods of construction and hence is significance for its symbolic as well as architectural value. The spatial configuration of the haveli defines the typical courtyard planning surrounded by rows of rooms.”

Analysis of Historic Evolution

The Haveli suffered from a host of serious structural and architectural issues. Major historic integrity has been compromised in the rebuilding of the collapsed portion. The incongruous addition of materials has obliterated the architectural character of the Haveli completely. There was severe deterioration at the staircase , walls and timber battens. Careful and minimal interventions were planned to maintain integrity of the building.

In keeping with the architectural vocabulary of the haveli, it is proposed to “restore” the grandeur of the haveli using period furniture and modern fittings and furnishings

Design Philosophy

The theme of the design was to bring back to the haveli its lost grandeur while meeting the requirements of modern living.

CENTRAL LIBRARY IN THE CITY OF HOMS

the past and the present.
While designing this project, I faced challenges in separating the public movement zone from the administrative zone and separating important visitors from the public movement, but the project was solved in all aesthetic, functional and executive aspects.

Timber Ridge is a phased residential development located in the scenic Campbell River, strategically positioned near the Golf Club and Country Resort. The project site benefits from serene surroundings, with a quiet residential suburb nearby and direct connectivity to the city via Peterson Road.

The site presented a unique challenge due to its steep grading towards the ocean on the west side. To address this, I designed the buildings to align with the natural contours of the land, ensuring the structures fit seamlessly within the environment. The project consists of 88 residential units, built in 6 phases, each offering a modern, family-oriented design.

Each unit is three stories high, with the first floor dedicated to parking, offering easy access to the upper levels. The second floor features a functional kitchen, living room, powder room, and a deck, creating distinct yet connected spaces. The third floor houses the private bedrooms, including an ensuite with a walk-in closet and a personal balcony, providing comfort and privacy for residents.

We prioritized creating a sense of community through the strategic placement of buildings, while offering diverse color and cladding schemes in each phase to break the monotony and enhance the project’s aesthetics. The use of wooden beams adds to the elegance, while thoughtful massing and balcony designs on the third floor create visual interest.

Throughout the design process, great attention was given to ensuring that Timber Ridge would feel both connected to nature and community-focused. The placement of the buildings follows a thoughtful layout, promoting natural circulation around shared spaces while enhancing the experience of ocean views from each unit. Residents can enjoy both privacy within their homes and the benefit of engaging communal spaces.

Phasing the development also played a crucial role in delivering a high-quality construction while allowing flexibility for future design iterations. This approach not only ensures that each phase integrates seamlessly with the next, but it also provides opportunities to refine and optimize design features based on feedback from earlier phases. This iterative process supports long-term project sustainability and helps build a cohesive neighborhood identity.

Additionally, the unit interiors have been designed with functionality and adaptability in mind, catering to the evolving needs of modern Canadian families. Spacious living areas, practical layouts, and thoughtful features like walk-in closets and balconies make the homes both practical and enjoyable. The kitchens and living rooms are designed to encourage family gatherings and social interactions, with ample deck space to further extend the living areas outdoors.

Timber Ridge’s combination of thoughtful design, modern amenities, and carefully selected materials positions it as a premier residential development in Campbell River. The project not only enhances the lives of its residents but also contributes to the surrounding community by fostering a welcoming, connected, and aesthetically engaging environment.

Portview Landing 2 is nestled in a quiet, residential-friendly suburb in the town of Port Alberni. It is situated south of the existing Portview Landing 1, a successful Phase 1 project comprising two mid-rise, multi-unit residential complexes. The proximity to a seasonal creek on the south side of the property required meticulous attention to construction practices, adhering to EPA regulations to preserve the natural environment.

The overall site design takes full advantage of the property’s contours and shape. The planning phase focused on creating a layout that enhances both functionality and community interaction, while also complementing the existing Phase 1 development. One of the key challenges was the uneven grade, particularly on the eastern side, which led to innovative design solutions such as retaining walls and creative placement of structures. The placement of the building masses, pathways, and green spaces was carefully orchestrated to create a sense of flow throughout the development.

At the heart of Portview Landing 2 is a four-story multi-unit residential building that sits on the eastern side of the property. The steep grade on this side required the construction of a retaining wall and pad to support the structure. This was essential in ensuring stability and addressing the slope without compromising the design. The building also features 6-foot balconies, providing outdoor space for residents and maintaining a continuity of design with the first phase of the project.

The northeast portion of the property posed further challenges for building placement due to the terrain, but we embraced the constraints by turning this area into a spacious amenity zone, including open green spaces for residents. A significant challenge was managing the coordination of four electrical transformers required for the site, a complexity that influenced our decision to place the electrical room at the front of the building, a distinctive design choice for the Seymour portfolio.

The site’s topography played a central role in shaping the layout, and we embraced the natural grade variations to enhance the development. The area behind the townhomes, which could have been left as dead space, was transformed into a beautifully landscaped amenity area, including a dog run, garden shed, and pergola seating area. These amenities not only add value to the project but also create an inviting outdoor environment for residents to enjoy.

By carefully addressing the site’s challenges — from the seasonal creek to the complex electrical coordination and uneven terrain — Portview Landing 2 stands as a thoughtful extension of Phase 1, maintaining design consistency while introducing new elements that cater to modern living. The mix of townhomes and apartments, coupled with community-driven amenities, ensures that this development meets the needs of a diverse range of residents.

To add diversity and break the monotony of the site’s layout, three rows of townhomes were introduced into the plan. These townhome blocks include three 6-plexes and three 4-plexes, all oriented north-south to maintain harmony with the existing phase and surrounding neighborhood. Their strategic positioning — with the buildings facing each other — fosters intimate neighborhood pockets that encourage a strong sense of community.

The design also reflects the lessons learned from previous tenant feedback, leading to several internal layout improvements. Notably, the consolidation of functional spaces such as laundry rooms, coat closets, and water heaters into a single area maximized living space, while recessed front porches added both privacy and charm to the townhome entries. On the second floor, the inclusion of a bathroom and ensuite proved to be a significant selling point for families, all without expanding the unit size.

The Tuntang Station, currently in a state of disrepair, requires significant restoration to preserve its historical value and reintegrate it into the cultural and tourism landscape of Central Java. Over the years, the station has experienced neglect, with its structure showing signs of deterioration, and the surrounding area losing its former vibrancy. Despite this, Tuntang Station holds immense potential due to its historical importance as one of the key stations in Indonesia’s railway heritage.

This restoration is critical not just for preserving the architectural heritage of the station but also for reactivating the area as a destination that connects visitors to the rich history of Indonesia’s railways. The project will address the station’s current state of neglect and transform it into a sustainable, attractive, and functional space that contributes to both the local community and the broader tourism economy.

The revitalization of the Tuntang Station Complex into a Railway History Museum represents a thoughtful blend of historical preservation and modern functionality. Located in Central Java, Tuntang Station holds significant historical value as part of Indonesia’s railway heritage. The revitalization project seeks to transform the aging station into a vibrant cultural hub that both preserves the station’s architectural essence and introduces new functions to engage the public.

The design approach for the revitalization carefully balances adaptive reuse with modern interventions. The core station building will be restored to maintain its original architectural elements, including its facade, roof structure, and other defining features. These historical elements are essential in preserving the station’s character while allowing the space to serve as a gateway to the museum. Visitors will begin their journey at the ticketing area within the station before moving through a carefully curated sequence of exhibition spaces that recount the history of railways in Indonesia.

Enterance Building for Museum

The museum will be divided into four main zones: the station itself, the station warehouse, the museum gallery, and the railway depot. Each zone will have its thematic focus, with the depot playing a key role in demonstrating the mechanical aspects of railway maintenance and repair. The depot’s second floor will feature classrooms, seminar spaces, and a library, further enhancing the educational potential of the museum. This space will be open to the public, offering learning opportunities for students, researchers, and railway enthusiasts.

Station warehouse repurposed as food court

This project preserves an important piece of Indonesia’s railway history and breathes new life into the Tuntang Station, creating a unique destination that blends heritage preservation, education, and tourism. The revitalization is expected to become a central attraction in Central Java, drawing both local and international visitors while contributing to the local economy and community engagement

A series of museums that use adaptive reuse

The interior of the revitalized Tuntang Station transformed into an interactive railway museum, will be designed to engage visitors of all ages through a blend of modern technology and educational experiences. The space will feature interactive exhibits such as digital touchscreens, virtual reality stations, and hands-on activities, allowing children to explore and play. At the same time, adults dive deeper into the history and mechanics of railways. Large-scale train models, multimedia displays, and sensory elements like sound effects will create an immersive environment. Additionally, flexible educational spaces will host workshops and seminars, making the museum an inclusive, engaging, and memorable destination for families and railway enthusiasts.

Revitalization of the Tuntang Station Complex as a Railway History Museum

Gedung Papak, also known as Gedung Keuangan Negara, is a historical building in Semarang that has witnessed the development of Indonesian finance and governance for more than two centuries. As one of the historical assets managed by the Ministry of Finance, this building not only has high historical value, but also symbolizes the government's commitment to preserving national cultural heritage.

1828 - 1942
This building was first built during the Dutch East Indies colonial era and was used as the central government office in Semarang. During this period, the building witnessed various important events, including the Japanese occupation in 1942-1945.

1945 - 1949
After Indonesian independence, the building was taken over by NICA (Netherland Indies Civil Administration) and used as a government office.

1950 - Present
In 1950, the building was handed over to the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and became the office of the Ministry of Finance, with the first Minister of Finance, A.A. Maramis, occupying the building.

The interior design of the State Finance Building adopts a mid-century modern approach, characterized by clean lines, organic forms, and functional furniture. This timeless style is brought to life through carefully chosen colors and shapes that reflect both sophistication and approachability.

Drawing inspiration from the branding of the tax sector, the design palette incorporates shades of blue and yellow, symbolizing trust and energy. These colors are thoughtfully applied to the walls, furniture, and decorative elements, creating a vibrant yet balanced atmosphere that invites interaction.

Furniture pieces in the space are selected based on their mid-century design aesthetics, featuring curved forms, tapered legs, and minimalist profiles. The furnishings are a harmonious blend of vintage elegance and modern utility, designed to evoke comfort and warmth while maintaining a sense of professionalism.
